We are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person to person service to individuals in need. We are young and old, married, and single. Our members come from various backgrounds but have an awareness that our blessings are to be shared with our brothers and sisters in need. We pray for all those we encounter and hope that we may be the face of Christ in their time of need.
If you are in need of assistance, please contact us at 316-617-6377 and we would be happy to visit with you. If you would like to financially support our ministry's outreach, click HERE. You may also bring cash or check (made out to Society of Saint Vincent de Paul) to the Saint Catherine of Siena parish office. We appreciate your generosity!
Please click on the programs below for more information on how we share with our brothers and sisters in need.
- Home Visit Team
Home Visit Team is the focus of our St. Vincent de Paul ministry, giving assistance to our neighbors in need. While requests can vary, it often includes rent or utilities assistance, furniture delivery, food and gas. Our visits provide the opportunity to pray with our neighbors in need and develop relationships with the poor in our community. The Home Visit Team is for adults only and interested members can explore this area of our ministry by shadowing current HVT members. - Friends of Friends in the Park
We serve Sunday lunch to the homeless and poor on the second Sunday of the month, meeting at the Ralph Wulz Tennis Center at 12:45 pm. In addition to a meal, we provide hygiene and personal care items and offer prayer and friendship to those we meet. Individuals and families are welcome to serve and participate. Click HERE to help!
- Furniture Team
Provide help with furniture pickup and delivery on an as needed basis for conferences within our diocese. Help with lifting and moving is always needed. Please see the form at the bottom of this page for more information or to sign up to help. - Donation Team
Assists in collecting and organizing donations that are dispersed to the homeless, home visit families or others in need. The donation team also works with organizations throughout the diocese in need of food, clothing and other areas of assistance. - Habitat for Humanity
Coordinate volunteers within our parish to assist with the Habitat for Humanity home builds in our diocese.
We have Monthly Meetings and all are welcome to attend
When: 5:30 pm, second Wednesday of the month
Where: Parish Meeting Room
Meeting focus: Prior to discussion of “business” (home visits, upcoming events, etc.), we open our meetings with prayer, a spiritual reading and reflection. This provides our group the opportunity to grow spiritually and to form friendships that are part of the core values within the society
How are you funded?
We are blessed to receive funding through the generosity of personal donations, from various parish organizations and the proceeds from our annual Pitch for the Poor ten point pitch card tournamant.
